angels + indian pow wow

IMG_8305
Last weekend, we went to an Angels game!! It was Mormon night at Angel Stadium and they played the Seattle Mariners. For the most part it was an uneventful game. There was no score for 9 innings! We kept ourselves entertained by eating lots of snacks and talking. Finally, it went into an extra inning and the crowd got really pumped. They were up first with no luck. We were up second in the inning and we scored. It was really exciting and definitely made the game worth going. Not too mention, there was a fireworks show right after! It was awesome!

And of course we hit up In-N-Out after!

So the Indian Pow Wow. ha I like to call it that but really it was a tribal meeting. The reservation is in Oklahoma but there are still members of the tribe who live in California. Every summer the Chief comes down to California and we all get together. It was awesome! There was food and lots of Indians! They all speak a native language, which was amazing to hear.

DC + Manhattan

Manhattan Beach that is....

HA! I have some more pictures from DC and some pictures from the other day we spent at Manhattan Beach. Manhattan Beach is up by LA so not super close to my house but not far. We don't get there very much because Newport Beach and Huntington Beach are really close. My Dad was flying in to LAX and we decided to pick him up and spend the day at the beach right there. So fun! It was a beautiful day and it made me really excited for when we move down here :) We have been spending our days by the pool, shopping, the beach, and just hanging around. We went to an Angels game and an Indian tribe meeting. Wait whaaaaaat? Yeah, we went and hung out with a bunch of Indians all day and got a bunch of free stuff. As we walked away my mother said, "I just feel at home, these are my people." Gotta love her.

More pictures and a giveaway to come. (I promise)

WE'RE BACK!!

I feel like I haven't blogged forever!! We are back from Washington D.C. and we are actually in California. Yep! We are staying with my parents for a month until school starts up again in September. Yes, we could have stayed in Rexburg and gotten things done but J and I just wanna party haha. We love to have fun and be with family constantly. I guess this is the time to be care free and kinda do whatever. As soon as I graduate in December, it will be work, work, work and hardly any play. BOO!

Anyway, we had an amazing time in D.C. We did so much in just one week. On the first night we visited the Jefferson Memorial, Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, and the WWII Memorial. This happened all in one night! We walked around and sweated our brains out! Oh yeah, the East Coast decided to have a massive heat wave while we were there. We would sweat through all of our clothes everyday haha. Needless to say, I look like a sweaty mess in all of the pictures but that's okay. Moving on...During the week we went to the American Indian Museum, The National Gallery of Art, The American History Museum, The Holocaust Museum, The White House, The Capitol, The Air and Space Museum, The International Spy Museum, The National Archives, and Arlington Cemetery. If I really sit down and think about it, I probably forgot something haha. We went to a lot of amazing restaurants and saw a lot of amazing architecture. There is so much history there and it gave me a new found appreciation for our country. We enjoy a lot of blessings and freedoms in this country. Overall, it was an awesome week! I will share some pictures right now but don't worry, this is not all of them. I am just too lazy to edit them all right now sooo I will share what I have so far!

See YA!

Well hello! This has been the busiest week ever and therefor blogging was kinda last on my list BUT that's okay because I'm pretty much done! I just have one more class today where I will turn in my last project (which is finished) and then I'm free!!! Tomorrow afternoon we are driving down to Salt Lake City because Saturday morning we are flying out to Washington D.C.!! I can't even contain my excitement. I am excited to be in a big city and explore a place that I've never been. Yay! So last weekend, yep I'm blogging about LAST weekend, we went and saw the epic Harry Potter movie. I am a fan and I've always been a fan but I am nothing compared to some people! I didn't do the midnight showing because frankly no matter how good it was, I would fall asleep! We saw it Saturday night and I was pleased!

book, book! who wants a book!

So I make books. And I really like it! I am in a book arts class and we make books all semester. What a dream! I can't wait to make all kinds of fun and creative books on my own. I'm thinking that once I hit 100 followers I will do a giveaway and give away one of my books?! Good idea?

Let me know friends because to be honest that is all I have to offer. haha! Two of my classes were cancelled today. This calls for a celebration!!! Happy Thursday! (it's almost Friday)

random facts

Today is Monday. BOO!! Just Kidding because this is basically the last week of school. Technically it ends next week but I like to tell myself that next week is just turning in projects and cleaning up all the art studios, which it is. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am that this semester is ending. Have you ever tried going to school in the summer? It's hard. Most days when J and I are driving to school we see happy little children riding their bikes and playing in the sprinklers but we can't even smile because we are one the way to school where we will sit in a classroom for the next 6 hours. Sounds terrible right? haha well luckily the semester started in April and at that time it was still cold here. It has just been tough the last month. I went to bed one night and woke up with NO motivation to do school work. It's kind of tragic because I love school but not right now. Right now I want to go to the beach and PARTY!

Well enough of my ranting. J and I had an awesome weekend! I took 3 naps. We went to the cheap theater to see X-men and got Kiwi Loco. (best fro yo ever) We went in our hot tub and got to see our little nephew get blessed in sacrament meeting. By the way, usually when I get yogurt I get granola and fruit because this it what I always get but this time I went loco. I was seriously craving fudge, brownies and all kinds of good stuff. So I went for it and I don't know if I will ever go back.

So I thought I would share my most favorite hair. I am growing out bangs and usually I have a middle part but husband asked me to do a little braid (he said that's his favorite haha) and ever since then I have done one every day for like 2 weeks. Go figure.
IMG_6716
No smiling because this is serious business.

So anyway I thought I would share some random facts about me because I love reading random facts about YOU guys:

-I am part Native American and part Ukrainian. The Native Americans pay for my school. HOLLA!
-I love making books, and I will share some later this week.
-I am Mormon. Didn't you guys know that? Go here to learn more.
-I REALLY want a dog.
-My husband is super friendly and outgoing so sometimes I like to sit back and observe people and conversations. It's kinda fun.
-I eat cereal entirely too much, in fact cereal for dinner! yay!
-I love running but I feel like it's a love/hate relationship. I love it and it hates me.
-I barely wear any makeup. I just don't like too and sometimes husband says, Oh can you put that stuff on your eyes for me. (he is talking about mascara, sad I know)
-I have been to Europe and I am obsessed with everything European. I want to go back. Today.
-I paint my nails weekly.

Welp people, that's me. Have good Monday :)

The 4th

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!

Am I late? haha. We just got back last night and today has been spent catching up on EVERYTHING. Our weekend was heavenly. We spent the weekend in Boise, Idaho with the Loar family. It was seriously crazy! There were like 30 people there and most of them were kids. We went and saw Transformers 3 on Monday- talk about crazyyyy. That night we went to the most awesome fireworks show EVER! It was the best one i've seen. Oh and Justin's cousin got home from his mission 2 weeks ago so I got to meet him for the first time. J and him are really close so it was really fun to finally meet him! We never went to bed before 2 AM. Yep, if you would have walked in the door after midnight you would think it was like 8 at night! Everyone is up watching movies, having dance parties, making cookies and just being crazy!! We didn't get any sleep but it was SO worth it! I could say this a million times but I honestly feel very blessed with the family I got. I married into an amazing family and I wouldn't trade them for anything. School is over in 2 weeks so my blog posts will probably be few and far in between. Finals are going to be NUTS!!!!!!!!
