9 months

9 months has come and gone and OH MY GOSH I could not be more in love with this babe. He is so so so funny. I'm being serious! He has the funniest facial expressions ever. His mannerisms and everything about him just make me want to kiss his face all day long. At his 9 month check up he weighed in at a whopping 17.4 lbs, which is the 11% percentile. His length and head size were more like the 65% percentile. He is still long and skinny and I love it. Speaking of long and skinny, he has been sooooo interested in food lately. Food has been one of his struggles. He will nurse and nurse all day long but I feel like I am forcing solids on him. He will eat certain things but not that much. Well anyway, the last week or so he has been wanting everything I eat and he has been chowing down on everything I give him! I am so happy! Hudson is crawling like a mad man and even walking with a little walker toy all around the house. He has been semi cuddly lately and Justin and I are loving it. He still sleeps 11-12 hours at night and takes two naps a day. He is very vocal and very busy. He will not sit still on my lap for more than 10 minutes, even if I have snacks and toys to entertain him. This makes church SO fun :) Ha! Oh and TEETH! He finally got some teeth. His first tooth was on top, which I though was weird, and then he got his bottom two front teeth. YAY! He is our happy, busy boy and we can't seem to get enough of him.

Halloween

For Halloween, Hudson and I went to California. Justin was going to be working all day and all night (BOOOOOO) so my Mom flew us out to California to hang out with her and my Dad. We had a blast. We went to my parent's ward trunk or treat. We went to Disneyland and down to San Diego! It was a great trip and I love seeing my parents with Hudson. They love him so much and they get a kick out of every little thing he does. Oh an Hudson was a fox for Halloween :)

8 months

Tomorrow my baby is 8 months old. UGH! That just sounds so old. Hudson is a crazy little boy already. I thought yeah for sure he's busy but when seasoned Moms are telling me, Oh man he's busy, I'm assuming they know more than me. He is full blown crawling and pulling himself up to everything! He pulls himself up to the couch, all the chairs and the tv stand. He has had his fair share of falls but for the most part he is pretty stable standing up. Just recently in the last few days, he has started to take a few steps along the couch. Oh man he is determined! If he sees something he wants or if there's something he wants to do, you can't stop him. These days taking pictures of him is nearly impossibly unless Justin is home. So I just chase him around the house snapping pictures and hoping a few turn out. He is an extremely happy baby. He is always smiling and laughing. I am excited and nervous for what is to come for this crazy little guy.

Far better

These are some pictures of a typical day with Hudson. I was reading back on my old blog posts before Hudson was born. I wrote about how much I anticipated his arrival and how he consumed my thoughts every single day. Back then I would day dream about what it would be like and I can say that it is far better than I could have ever imagined.

the swings

I've been wanting to take Hudson on the swings for a while but they always seem so big and Hudson seems so small. So one afternoon we headed over to the park and it was only only 80 degrees outside (!!!!!!) The heat is starting to fade into the fall and I'm beyond excited. It's like never ending summer around here. Anyway we went to the park and Hudson LOVED the swings. I had high expectations for this and it exceeded my expectations. He was laughing and smiling the whole time. I am so grateful for every single day I get to spend with him. It doesn't seem possible but my love for him grows more and more every single day. Sometimes I feel like my heart could burst! We will be making lots of trips back to the swings.

my bow tie boy

My little bow tie boy passed the 6 month mark back in August and so I had to take a few pictures. I could take pictures of this babe all day. He is so happy and funny. I love everything about this age! He is easily entertained and already scooting around. He is very easy to make laugh and once he gets going, he will just laugh and laugh and laugh. I can't get enough of it! He was such a champ in the sleeping department but as of late, he seems to be going backwards. His 10-12 hour stretches have turned into 3-4 hour stretches. Teething? Growth spurt? I don't know!!! The lack of sleep is rough but cuddling that little babe in the middle of the night makes it all okay. At his 6 month appt. he weighed exactly 16 lbs (25%) and was 27.5 inches long (85%). He continues to be our long skinny boy :)

Summer 2013

Summer 2013 has been one for the books. We got to spend time with family, move into and new place and get used to living in Arizona. We moved to Arizona back when Hudson was first born. The first few months after I had Hudson were kind of a blur. I spent a lot of days inside trying to figure out the whole mom thing. Now that we have a better routine, I've been able to explore a little bit. I'm still getting used to the heat and the landscape but overall I'm loving it. Justin is working full time, and I am blessed to stay home with the babe so there's no complaining over here :)











These pictures are from a family vacation we took with my family. We spent a week in Lake Arrowhead! It was a blast.
