Kinda Weird

I know this might sound weird but I kinda miss Arkansas. Not because Arkansas was a totally, awesome, amazing place to be but because of what was in Arkansas. J and I were in Arkansas and yep that's pretty much it. We spent a million hours a day together! [major exaggeration] Seriously though, we were in a new place and we were figuring everything out together! All we had to worry about was work and each other. Ah, and it was summer. This summer we will be living in Nebraska for a little while. I have never been there so I don't know what to expect but I do know that there will be lots of time for J and I to hang out and explore the city together...hurry up summer! Not only because of Nebraska but because I'm freezing my butt off over here!

Camping and other fun stuff

On Saturday night Justin and I decided to swing by Wal-mart, pick up a red box and take a stroll. Yep, thats the kind of entertainment we get here in Idaho! So, as we walked around Wal-mart Justin sneakily lead us into the camping section. Ok, side note J has been asking for camping stuff for like weeks and I keep saying-Wait until it stops snowing and then we can get some camping stuff! Anyway, he proceeded to talk me into this totally awesome 6 man tent, and at this point I gave in. What was I thinking? ha! So we went home and immediately set it up! Yep, in our living room.

..Anywho it was hilarious! The tent was huge! We could easily fit like 10 people laying down hah. We brought out our sleeping bags and played some scrabble for the night. I highly recommend the tent in the living room thing.

p.s. You know you're in Rexburg,Idaho when the girl on the treadmill next to you is reading the Book of Mormon. ha gotta love it!

Courage

"As I contemplate all that you face in the world today, one word comes to my mind. It describes an attribute needed by all of us but one which you—at this time of your life and in this world–will need particularly. That attribute is courage."
-Thomas S. Monson

Can I just say how excited I am for General Conference. Conference is always inspiring, uplifting and just what I need at the time! All that is happening in the world has left many with feelings of unrest and uncertainty. [me being one of them] The words of our prophet always bring peace and happiness. I am excited for General Conference and the opportunity to learn more! I know I shouldn't be so worried about what's going on in the world. I just need

tobemoreprepared.

BIG TIME.

Anyway, those are my thoughts for the day! Happy Tuesday :)

Salsa!

Tonight I made salsa. It is my sister-in-law Heather's recipe and it's AMAZING. Once you start, you really can't stop eating it. Thanks for the awesome recipe Heather :) It makes a lot so I have a feeling we will be eating this all week. Oh, and J isn't a big fan of salsa so when I say "we" I guess I just mean me! ha!

1 can mexican style stewed tomatoes
1 large red pepper (It has to be red or your salsa turns out a disgusting color! cut up but keep in bigger chunks)
4-5 green onions (cut up but keep in bigger chunks)
1/2-3/4 4oz can diced green chilies
1 heaping tsp. minced garlic
1 1/2 TB vinegar
1 1/2 TB sugar
2 TB lime juice
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
a little bit of cilantro

Blend and serve.

Coming soon!

Photobucket

Our one year anniversary is coming SOON. We we're at 11 months yesterday. I cannot believe how fast time goes. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was at home for my bridal shower right around this time. Ah! We will be in California for our anniversary because it is right during our spring break. I am so excited to be able to say, "Oh, we have been married for about a year." SO much better than....Oh about 7 months. Ha! Lots of "stuff" has been happening but I will write about that later...until then. Cheers!

Europe

Two years ago I was getting ready to leave for Europe. My Europe trip was life changing. I had an amazing experience where I reflected a lot on what I want to do with my life and the way I view art. I have always loved art but traveling to six different countries and seeing some of the most famous pieces in the world, changed the way I feel about art. I love museums and I miss museums! Being in Rexburg, keeps us pretty limited when it comes to art. I am so grateful that I was able to experience the things that I did! When I think about my time in Europe, I literally want to cry because I miss it so much. Basically what I'm trying to say is, anyone up for a trip? :)

I miss eating a pastry every single day! I don't know how Europeans do it. They are all so skinny and yet they produce some of the most amazing/fattiest foods ever! I love it!

One of the best pictures ever. CLASSIC! I honestly think about my Europe trip all the time. I think about when I can go back and all the other museums that I would love to visit. I can't wait to take my sweet husband to Europe. I think he will dig all the yummy pastries and beautiful art. Well until then..cheers! :)
